Texas: day 191

people in texas are still being nice. the other day i was taking the toe-heel express down w 5th st when i heard a chorus of carbeeps behind me. I ignored them because i don’t care. shortly afterward a white luxury car pulled up next to me and a concerned young woman and her equally concerned father motioned for me to come to the window. “YOU DROPPED SOMETHING!” they exclaimed. “right about 20 feet back. before the crosswalk!” my interest piqued, my fear of loss activated, and my adrenaline pumping, i retraced my steps. however, before the crosswalk i did not find my new macintosh apple iPod shuffle or the twenty i had just taken out of the atm. rather, lying on the sidewalk was some sxsw trash that i had deposited in a rear pocket for future disposal in a certified receptacle. i dont even know what else to say…

Texas: day 188

this morning i put nutmeg in my coffee and it tasted like turkey; i suppose this negates the best cup of coffee i had in my life which happened one time in memphis. balance, people, balance.
