So, to do the bulk of my duties for my internship at The Morning News, I’ve had to come to terms with Google Reader. I’ve always been really anti-reader — I’ve long been a Web site loyalist. I love the way Web sites look and feel as I scroll through them individually; I like to thoughtfully consider each one’s design as I make my morning, mid-morning, afternoon, mid-afternoon and evening rounds through my bookmarks. Each time I visit my reader and see 1000+ unread items, I worry that personalized RSS composers may destroy common appreciation for the look-feel of Web sites that Internet journalists and invisible server faeries work so diligently to produce.
Omg. I think I’ve found a topic for my master’s thesis in this. I can call it “Lost in Aggregation.” I am so excited.
i accept any new technology that you do, but 6 months later. it’s my way. so this means i will be into reader early 2010. can’t wait.
