I cant decide which is my favorite line from this piece:

1. In choosing to become a parent, one seeks to create a relationship, and, uniquely, one also seeks to create the person with whom one has the relationship.

or

2. Children are neither human pets nor little therapists.

It’s all so… sci-fi!
